Is it possible to make finished, food-safe pottery at home?
All the info I can find of pottery requires the use of a kiln. It seems to me that by now they must have come up with glazes that can be cured in the oven or something. Do you know if there are any products that I can use to make my own pottery jars, etc. without needing a kiln? Thanks for your help

Is a pottery barn sectional worth the price tag?
I am looking to buy a large sectional for my family room. I like the more traditional styles of Pottery Barn or Ballard Designs but the prices are very high. Wondering if there are comparable brands that are less expensive. I am also looking for the piece to be upholstered, rather than slipcovered. Thanks.
What to consider before buying pottery dinnerware?
i m thinking to buy pottery dinnerware for everyday use? what should i do?
Back in either 2005 or 2006, i saw a quilt in pottery barn store and magazine. Help me?!!?
I didn't buy it then, because it didnt match anything I had, but i have thought about looking to buy it, because i really liked it. i cannot remember the name, and have since lost the magazine. does anyone have the old magazines? or maybe have te quilt, or remember the name of it? it's an oceanic themed quilt, and the patches on it have a layered fabric effect. there are greens, blues, reds, and they are earthy tones. i dont think it is the " aloha" i saw a bunch of those on ebay , but it had a definite ocean y feel to it. please help me Thank you just to narrow it down answers with the link are soo useful its not the hibiscus, huntington, or punchy quilts, i remember it didnt have any pink in it

Question about earthenware, pottery (plates)?
I just bought some plates constructed of high fired earthenware. They are hand painted and hand finished. Anyway, I noticed that the bottom of the plates underneath them , they are kind of... more or less bunchy here and there. The surface isn't completely smooth. It's not something major and on some plates you hardly notice it but I was just wondering if this is normal or if it's a sign of bad quality? And I'm sorry if the question is hard to understand. I'm not a native english speaker.
What flooring would be best to install in a room that I am going to use for a pottery studio.?
i am moving into a house where i will be converting a bedroom into a pottery studio. i primarily hand build. the room has carpet and i am going to remove it and put down a more appropriate floor. I am wondering what material would be best for wear and tear, slippery wet clay situations, and keeping clean. low cost is always a plus, too.there is plywood subfloor under the carpet and the room is on the second story
