Just curious, how do I make handmade jewelry like you see on Etsy.com?
I own my own online business and need accessories. I am just curious more than anything, how do people get the supplies and how do they make cute plastic or metal jewelry?I would love the ability to turn my logo into a ring and create it myself.Any ideas on how this is done?Thanks.

Is it customary to leave jewelry with an appraiser for an extended time?
A local jeweler advertised on the radio that he gives free jewelry appraisals if you bring your items to his store. I was curious about two rings I inherited, so I took them to him. However, he insisted that the rings need to be left with him because he doesn't do the actual appraisals, he sends them out, so it would be whenever he got around to sending them, when the actual appraiser got around to do the appraisal and send them back. It would be 4 to 6 weeks, maybe. I was very dubious about this procedure. So many thing could go wrong and the rings end up being " misplaced" somewhere. Am I over reacting? Is this a common thing for jewelers to do? If so, why didn't he mention this in his ad? How long does an appraisal take?

Can i put my taxco silver vintage jewelry in a liquid solution-style jewelry cleaner?
It has some blueish greenish colored areas ,but I have no idea if that's turquoise or some tinted enamel. How should I clean the silver? Should I assume it's sterling silver? Does that make a difference? It's old and badly tarnished...thanks just to clarify, the blueish greenish areas are stones or something...the metal itself is not turning blue green. It's just silver but tarnished.

How can I repair a wooden jewelry box?
I recently bought a wooden jewelry box. The people at the store had put tape on it to keep the doors from falling out in transit. When I removed the tape, the top layer of the wood where the tape was attached came off. The flaw is huge and quite unattractive. What can I do to repair it or totally change the appearance? If I spilled silver jewelry cleaner on my countertop and now it's stained, can I hold the manufacturer liable?
I really didn't do this, but someone I know did. She has a marble countertop that now has an orange stain on it from the cleaner. The jar did say it had an acidic chemical on it. I'm trying to explain to her that it's her own dumb fault and she can't hold them liable.

How do I clean porous, vintage jewelry?
My neighbor, whose home is FULL of antiques, gave me some very vintage jewelry when I was younger. One of the pieces is a long necklace made of an unknown metal with many large, teal beads. They are so soft and porous, I'm not sure if they're stones. After sitting up on a cabinet in my kitchen for several years, they've accumulated some dust and I tried to wash them, without success. Any suggestions?

How do you clean copper jewelry?
I have a pendant that is crystals and a shell piece wrapped in copper wire. The front is tarnished but the back that touches me is still shinny copper. What can I do to clean it and not hurt the intricate wrapping or the stones and shell. Possibly something to soak it in, so not to scrub on it?

Jewelry. Is it okay to varnish food?
How would you go about varnishing food for bracelets necklaces? I'm always wearing a lot of jewelry and really want to put cheerios on a bracelet don't judge me, It hasn't yet been proven that I'm clinically insane, just a little crazy would varnishing food work? Jewelry and Handbag organization?
I have lots of jewelry and handbags. I change bags a lot so I need them to be accessible, the jewelry too. So I don't want to store them in a giant sealed bin.Any ideas? I'm sick of having them in a pile in the corner, I'm afraid they'll get stepped on by someone or ruined. As for the jewelry, I'm sick of untangling necklaces all the time.
