Converting a two family to a single family home?
We are considering purchasing a two family home, but I would like to convert it to a single family. What kind of price range would I be looking at for a project like this? It is 2795 sq ft. and is located in Ravena, NY I know it is impossible to give any solid numbers without seeing it and everything, but any kind of informed guesstimation would really help to get a feeling for what we may be getting into. thanks so much for any help

Why do some of the CFL's in my home flicker or don't work at all?
There are 16 of these types of lights in my home, some work just fine while others just flicker like a strobe and a few come on for a few seconds then go off. I've tried replacing the tubes,same wattage,same make but still the same results. I know these lights have ballasts and I've priced them,not cheap. Aren't these lights supposed to last 5 7 years? They started acting this way after 2 years. Any lighting experts out there? Maybe the switches?

What is causing the freon to leak in my home central a/c unit?
For the past 2 years I've had a leak in my home A C but it will cool for the entire season . Last time lasted until November and I turned it off when we had a cold front but a week later when I switched the thermostat it wouldn't work at all, no freon I'm planning on having it checked and repaired in a few weeks but want to know a little about what could be causing it . If it was a inline leak you would think it wouldn't last even a month let alone 6 months.
